Faith Alive - Los Altos:  A speaker series where individuals from our community tell their story of guidance, reassurance and encouragement after suffering dramatic stress and trauma.

September 8, 2010 - Shadia Hrichi

Once at risk for being aborted herself as her mother struggled with an unplanned pregnancy, and having lost her own child to abortion at the age of 15, Shadia captures the hearts of her audience as she illustrates, through personal experience, the faithfulness of God’s love, promise of redemption, and path to victory. As an Author, Speaker, and Founder of Beautiful Voice Ministries, Shadia is passionate for sharing God’s promises of hope and healing, while encouraging audiences to embrace the magnificent plan God has for their lives. Shadia serves as a counselor and Event Speaker for a local pregnancy center, and regularly speaks at churches, fundraisers, and other events. Her new book, "Nameless No More: A Journey of Healing After Abortion", was released on August 15, 2010, and can be found by visiting her website, www.beautifulvoice.org

May 12, 2010 - Brian Golter
CEO of Brian Golter & Associates.

Prior to establishing his own firm, Brian spent 20 years under the mentorship of June Gregory, at Gregory & Leigh. While there, Brian trained in her remarkable art of uncovering the very best in an individual, allowing them to find the right job (as well as their God given identity and strength) in the shortest possible time, even under adverse circumstances!

Through his book and seminars, Brian brings a hope-filled message of overcoming emotional, spiritual and financial adversity. Brian is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz. He lives in Los Altos with his wife Kim (the founder of Jeremiah’s Promise and previous speaker at the Faith Alive series).

February 10, 2010 - Michael Halloran
CEO of NES Financial

Michael is a dedicated husband, a devoted father and serial entrepreneur. The past 10 years have proven to be an incredible journey of his faith.  From being in Manhattan on September 11, 2001, to a life threatening medical situation with a long and difficult recovery. Michael’s is a dramatic story of God’s faithfulness, the power of prayer, and a living example that there is hope no matter how dire the circumstances may seem.

November 11th - Kim Golter

Founder, president and CEO of Jeremiah's Promise, a volunteer organization dedicated to helping young ladies when they are 18 and ”are no longer eligible”  for  foster homes.

October 14th - Bernat Rosner

Bernat Rosner, who as a 12 year old Hungarian boy, was taken to Auchwitz with his parents and brother. All of his family perished and Bernie became a prisoner but his years in a Hebrew school  helped him survive.

September 9th - Skip Vaccarello

Moderator of the Silicon Valley Prayer Breakfast and President of Applied Weather Technology, Skip is passionate about his faith. He chairs the Silicon Valley Prayer Breakfast, an annual event which features speakers with inspiring Christian testimonies and is Associate Staff with Search Ministries, which helps men and women who are searching for meaningful answers to life's tough questions. He enjoys helping people live out their faith in the workplace and loves exploring intellectual discussions about faith on a one-on-one basis and in small groups. In his talk, Skip will discuss how he came to become a follower of Christ and the challenges and opportunities to witness for Christ on a daily basis in the workplace and in life's activities.

August 5th  -  Rev. Arden Strasser


As a missionary to The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zambia, Pastor Arden Strasser realized his ability to work with the local pastors and their staffs in bringing the message of God's love to the people of South Africa.  Married with two children, ages 6 and 16, Pastor Strasser faces daily challenges in bridging the multi-cultural gap to build, reach out and encourage the Zambian people to learn and enjoy the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

May 20th - Ms. Jeanne K. Smith, Exit Stage Right, LLC.

What do you do when your spouse suddenly dies?  The mother of a three-year old and a seven-month old, her world was upset when the policeman knocked on the door.  Jeanne shared the challenges and "Guiding Hand" that helped as she recovered from her loneliness and become a source of strength to others following the sudden death of her husband.

October 8th  -  Tess Reynolds, CEO of New Door Ventures

"What's in your toolbox" when you face the loss of your child?  Tess Reynolds tells us how she treasured her 8-year old son Matthew's life, even has he was dying of bone cancer, and how she has lived with his death as an executive leader.
